Nearly 70 percent of all charitable giving comes from individuals, and nonprofit leaders and fundraisers know big donors play a critical – and growing – role in their long-term success.

But philanthropists don’t always understand what charities need the most, and nonprofit executives may not feel comfortable asking for the kinds of help they really need.

The Center for Effective Philanthropy recently surveyed more than 600 nonprofit leaders to gain insights into their relationships with major donors and learn how wealthy individuals could better support the causes they care about.

The report analyzes the 200 survey responses received and reveals three key findings:

  • Most nonprofit leaders expect to increase their focus on building ties with big donors in the near future
  • Charity executives want major donors to better understand how and why they work the way they do
  • Long-term, unrestricted, and non-monetary support are critically needed for nonprofits to thrive

How can nonprofit leaders foster greater understanding of their organization’s goals and learn what motivates big donors to give and get involved?

Join us for a one-hour webinar at 2:00 PM ET on Wednesday, December 11 to hear directly from Tanya Ramos, CEO of Pencils of Promise, and a major supporter of PoP, in a candid conversation about how they work together to achieve the organization’s mission to advance education and opportunity in developing countries.

What will you learn?

  • How to build stronger ties with major supporters
  • How to apply key findings from CEP’s report, Crucial Donors: How Major Individual Givers Can Best Support Nonprofits
  • What inspires one philanthropist to give and get involved
