About the Speakers: How Major Donors Can Best Support Nonprofits

Ellie Buteau

Ellie Buteau oversees CEP’s research and manages its research team. She has
written numerous reports and articles and is co-author of CEP’s latest report,
“Crucial Donors: How Major Individual Donors Can Best Support Nonprofits.” Buteau was a 2012 Independent Sector American Express NGen Fellow and is a Certified Professional Coach. Before joining CEP in 2004, she led the design and analysis of education and health-related research projects at Cornell University, Tufts University, and several nonprofits.

Hannah Martin

Hannah Martin supports the research team at CEP in designing studies, analyzing
quantitative and qualitative data, and writing reports. She is a co-author of the CEP report, “Crucial Donors: How Major Individual Donors Can Best Support Nonprofits.” Before joining CEP in June 2018, Hannah was a research assistant for the Indiana Nonprofits Project, where she helped administer a comprehensive survey of Indiana nonprofits, analyzed data, and wrote reports about the scope and dimensions of the Indiana nonprofit sector.

Tanya has dedicated her career to improving educational opportunities and life
outcomes for young people in the most low-resourced communities. Before leading Pencils of Promise, she held leadership roles at Education Pioneers and The Children’s Aid Society and helped both groups grow. Tanya has been honored with the Annie E. Casey Foundation Award for exemplary work in underserved
